Field Trip to Olin and Wellesley Colleges

  • Olin College to visit Dave Barrett, who is studying how to give robots a conscience.  Also to learn more about Olin's course called Engineering for Humanity.
  • Wellesley College to visit Orit Shaer's Human Computer Interaction Lab.  They are currently investigating "how next-generation interaction techniques can enhance collaborative problem solving and discovery in data-intense areas."
  • Wellesley College to visit Amy Banzaert, who researches "engineering education and the development of consumer-oriented technologies that can benefit under-served populations worldwide."  Amy hails from MIT's D-Lab which "is building a global network of innovators to design and disseminate technologies that meaningfully improve the lives of people living in poverty. "
